Jung also said: "The State grows by keeping us apart" and spoke of "The Religion of Totalitarianism" (both videos on "rumble"; see also Jung videos from "The Academy of Ideas" also on "rumble.") (Although Jung respected astrology, his naiveté about "The Aquarian Age" was inconsistent with his concerns about the survival of humanity at that exact same time period.)
For the United States, starting from about 250 years ago, the most important turning points historically have corresponded to Uranus in Gemini and Pluto in the Fixed Sign of Leo. I leave it to others to focus on these placements regarding other countries of the world and the people everywhere else in the world.
URANUS and PLUTO: Planets of The Modern World

(This approximate time range is considered by many, including Jungian James Hollis, as the beginning of "modern" man/humankind, coinciding with Goethe's Faust.)

Uranus corresponds to the element Uranium; Pluto corresponds to the element Plutonium
PLANETARY DISCOVERY PERIODS and MYTHOLOGICAL CLUES
Dane Rudhyar was the first to notice that the years just before and just after the astronomical discovery of a "new" planet relates to the truth of the essence of that "new" planet. The American Revolution was just before and ongoing during Uranus' discovery. The French Revolution was just after Uranus' discovery. Concurrently, before and after, there was the Industrial Revolution. Unlike an unsuccessful peasant revolt of old, these revolutions changed everything. Before that, change wasn't even much of a thing.
Astrologer Rick Tarnas made a brilliant book–length case for the mythological truth being more like the Titan Prometheus than Ouranos ("the sky"), although the aeronautical (beyond Gaia/ Earth) angle is also relevant.
Pluto (Roman name for the Greek Hades) is the Lord of Death and the Underworld. His Discovery Period spans the multiple deaths WW I and WW II, the discovery and unleashing of weapons of mass destruction and mass murder, Hiroshima–bombed with a Uranium bomb and Nagasaki With a Plutonium bomb, for starters. Chemical and biological weapons used on a mass scale also deal death since WW I, more deadly with passing time, not just for humans, but also for all mortal Earthly creatures.
Mythological Pluto became disgruntled if too many people lived too long. To be mortal, everyone is meant to die, every human individual, every country, every plant, every animal, etc.
OUTER PLANETS: URANUS and PLUTO: "Don't take it personally."
Rudhyar was likely the first astrologer to point out the difference between the "personal" "planets" (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars), the "societal planets" Jupiter and Saturn, and the "transpersonal" outer planets, including Uranus and Pluto.
Far more importantly, though, Rudhyar stressed the importance of an individual person's consciousness in relation to his or her astrological potential. Newer planets and such discovered by technologically improved telescopes and astrophysics symbolically "came out of the dark" of the unconscious. Most individuals, with or without any knowledge of astrology, unfortunately experience the astrology of outer planets (like Uranus and Pluto) unconsciously. That is to say, most are easily caught up unconsciously in media–fueled movements, easily manipulated into fear, anger and other less conscious negative emotions. Negatively realized, Uranus is forever discontent, prompting ANY change to always be seen as better, then followed by discontent with the most recent change. Don't like your president? Anyone else must be better, right? ("How's that workin' out for you?")
MINORITY REPORT: SIGNS and NUMBERS, NOT KEYWORDS and CLICHÉS
"A little bit of knowledge is a dangerous thing" especially when it comes to astrology. Rather than trusting ultimately meaningless abstract astrological clichés, instead, the constant truth of astrological fundamentals and historical precedents show us a far more probable "forecast." THE DEADLY ASTROLOGY of WORLD WAR II (and WORLD WAR III?)
For Pluto, it is important to understand Pluto since Pluto's astronomical discovery to be expressed differently in each sign of the Zodiac. Consider Pluto in FIRE sign LEO, which is a FIXED sign. FIXED sign placements have a strong potential inclination toward POWER. We find The Lord of Death at his strongest (at least until Pluto in the FIXED sign of AQUARIUS (now). Remember, when the avoiding–the–bottom–line astrologers say that Pluto is about "transformation" that physical death is the ultimate "transformation."
"HOPE I DIE BEFORE I GET OLD" (The Who: "Talkin' 'bout My Generation" )
For the "Baby Boomer" generation born with Pluto in Leo, each individual from that generation has, is or soon will experience the transit of Pluto opposite natal Pluto. For each person, he or she is reminded of their own mortality and that of other individuals as well as the inevitable end of life for everyone of their generation.
Pluto in Aquarius brings The Lord of Death into another FIXED sign, the sign opposite to Leo. Note that Pluto means riches, mythologically, hidden riches, underground. The term "Plutocracy" (rule by the rich) was coined (pun intended) in English in 1652 and the term "Plutocrat(s)" came into English in 1850. Living and now deceased Plutocrats (Now several (at least several) billionaires and multi—billionaires) want fewer people alive, particularly since the Uranus and Pluto conjunction of the mid–1960s. So a very few welcome the die—off of very many. The first astrologically viable time for those comparatively few to get their wish is now that Pluto is in Aquarius.

ALL WORLD WARS ARE NOT EQUAL.
The United States entered WW I very late in that war and profited from it financially. Similarly, the U.S. entered WW II later than other countries, and profited financially from that war even more than from WW I. However, everything is quite different now for the United States. No matter what chart one uses, the U.S.' Pluto return corresponds to the end of the American Empire. "Uncle Sam" is now a grumpy old man ("Get off of my lawn, and my lawn is everywhere!"). This corresponds to geriatric present and recent leaders, of both political parties: Biden, Trump, Pelosi, Feinstein, etc., etc. The leaders are old, weak (physically, mentally, morally, etc.)
Americans were the vigorous heroes of both WW I and of WW II. However, Americans now are no longer seen worldwide as "the good guys." The U.S. was technologically superior before, not necessarily so now.
Spiritually and otherwise, my personal advice is to hope and pray for the best, but psychologically prepare for the worst. Although many died, many were maimed, many lost loved ones, many were traumatized for years, now more than ever, one's own consciousness is more important than ever. Denial is always a choice, but, in my opinion, never a wise choice.
IN PERSPECTIVE:
Every astrologer knows, or should know, that every event chart, like every other chart, is a complex of multiple planetary indicators, not just the story of a single planet. However, because of the unique unprecedented actuality and potential of vast mass murder and destruction regarding modern World War, focus here has been only on Pluto, Lord of Death. One could elaborate further, for instance, on Uranus transits during the same time period. Pluto is THE most important planet to study regarding that which is TRULY existential: physical existence itself and the threat to physical existence.
Sometimes, though, two exceptional historical turning points coincide or overlap in a relatively short time. One of those for the United States was the 1940s: a Pluto story intertwined with a Uranus story. Another such extremely rare time for the United States is NOW: late 2024 through January 2030. The United States' Uranus in Gemini story that follows overlaps with the Pluto in LEO and AQUARIUS story just described.
